Creating Sequences in the Web App Follow
A sequence is a pre-planned set of communication events, designed to send a series of messages at timed intervals, in order to elicit a response. Sequences use email and text templates to deliver messages to your sales prospect. To use the sequences function you must have in-app email and/or in-app texting enabled. To enable these features please reach out to us at support@connectnowinc.com .
To create a sequence you must first decide if it will be a combination of email and text messages, or just email or just text messages. This decision is based partly on the information received in your lead - in order to use a combination of both email and text, you must receive the prospect's email address and phone number in the lead. If you receive only the phone number you are limited to a text only sequence and likewise, if you receive only an email address you are limited to an email only sequence. If you intend to use sequences regularly, recommended best practice is to create 3 separate sequences - 1 combination, 1 text, and 1 email.
The first step in creating a sequence is to create your message templates. We discuss how to do this in our support article Adding and Managing Text and Email Templates. Once your templates have been created you can create a sequence by logging into the Connect Now web dashboard, clicking on the profile pic in the upper right hand corner for the drop down menu and selecting "Settings." From there, select the "Sequences" tab and then "New Sequence".
In the Settings Tab select Sequences
In the top middle of the screen you will see the option for New Sequence
Building your sequence is easy. First assign a name, then select a trigger type - we recommend "Manual" to start. A terminating event, when added to the sequence, will stop future messages from being sent once the prospect responds. To add a step to the sequence simply select "Add Email" or "Add Text". From the drop-down menu, select the appropriate email or text template for each step. Timeframes and Intervals are selected to alert the system when the message should be sent (intervals are measured from 'Time Zero' when the sequence was started). Hit "save" and you are now ready to use your sequence.
